WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:

This show was the most Fringe-y I’ve seen yet. It was fluid, cerebral, and kept you wondering. The individual stories drew you in, and the acting performances were all very good.”
— Jean Lerma, Make Cincinnati Weird

“O’Keefe’s script is poetic, thoughtful and evocative.”
–Rick Pender, CityBeat

“‘Your Female Companions’ is a fresh, daring, and hilarious exploration of how women themselves are sometimes the worst offenders in the War on Women.”

“[The Space Between My Head and My Body is] a rewarding hour of theatre, capable of sweeping up its audience in the dark dreams of a clever and imaginative script.”
— The List (UK)

“Catie O’Keefe is a bold writer, whose work looks into unique and interesting themes in our culture. Her often surreal plays investigate what it is like to end up in very unusual circumstances and how the character is able to justify being at that certain place or time.”
— Lora Mander, Director

“As a writer, Catie has a distinct voice; she is able to imbue her characters with a feeling of realness – Actors claim that her words feel ‘right’ in the mouth. There is also a strong visual element involved in her scripts. Catie understands the production process and is able to suggest ideas for the staging of the play but is also able to compromise on practical elements where necessary without sacrificing her overall visions.”
— Vicki Stevenson, Producer/Designer

“Catie’s writing seamlessly envelopes many dimensions of what is never just a single story. Her characters are intricate mechanisms for exploring and exploiting a swathe of problems and possibilities. Therefore, performing her work has always been a revelatory personal process for me.”
— Michelle MacMahon, Actress

“‘Darker’: from the intriguing mind of Catie O’Keefe, who’s getting great buzz as a playwright to watch since her move here”, “Especially pleasing” and “a Fringe must-see by Catie O’Keefe”
— Jackie Demaline, Arts Critic, Enquirer

“[The Space Between My Head and My Body is] a deeply intriguing piece”
— The Metro (UK)

“I know from reading her other works that she has a strong drive to not only write plays, but to explore the potential stories and styles the world has to offer. She is an exceptionally organized and focused young woman in her work ethic. She has an extraordinary skill at combining her fantastic imagination with a balanced story telling technique.”
— Jim Stump, Artistic Director of New Edgecliff Theatre
